Medical Director
Dr. Rekha Gohel, M.D. is a Geriatrician and Internist under the practice named Elite Medical Care, located in Freehold, NJ, and is affiliated with CentraState Medical Center. She has extensive experience in providing diagnostic, therapeutic & preventive medical services to geriatric population, taking care of patients in office, hospital, nursing homes & assisted facilities. She is involved in clinical trials specializing in Alzheimer’s dementia-performing neurocognitive assessments on the research participants & procedures involved from the informed consent stage to patient’s evaluation, reviewing clinical data, diagnostic studies, & supervising the staff. Dr. Gohel completed a Geriatric Fellowship in Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Flushing NY, and has had hospital appointments in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge and CentraState Medical Center, Freehold.
Neurologist
Dr. Cheng completed her neurology residency at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, followed by a fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Maryland Medical System. She is certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Director of Orthopedic Rehab
Dr. Eric J. Buxbaum, DO, is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Adult Reconstruction with a focus on Hip and Knee Replacement. He currently serves as a Physician at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, NJ, and holds key leadership positions at CentraState Medical Center. Dr. Buxbaum is the Medical Director of the Joint Replacement Program and Chairman of the Surgical Value Committee at CentraState Medical Center. He completed his fellowship at the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and has received several awards for his research and contributions to the field of orthopedics. Dr. Buxbaum is an active member of professional organizations, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO).
Director of Cardiac Rehab
Dr. VanHise graduated from Rutgers University and received his medical degree from the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine at NY Institute of Technology. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. He then completed his General Cardiology training at Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
Dr. VanHise also received advanced sub-specialty training in Interventional Cardiology, Endovascular Medicine, and Venous Disease at Deborah Heart and Lung. He continues to be a Clinical Instructor of the Cardiology Fellowship teaching Interventional Cardiology, Endovascular Medicine, and Venous Disease Treatment. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Endovascular Medicine. Dr. VanHise is affiliated with CentraState Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Raritan Bay Medical Center, and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Associate Professor
Dr. Khan comes to the Jewish Home with years of clinical experience in the area of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Dr. Khan is affiliated with CentraState Medical Center as the ACE Medical Director and is an Associate Professor with Rutgers RWJMS at CentraState Family Medicine. His Family Medicine Practice is located in downtown Freehold. Dr. Khan is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies, and North Brunswick, NJ. He completed both his Postgraduate Training in Family Medicine and his Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at CentraState Medical Center. In addition to Memory Care oversight, Dr. Khan will be introducing his residency program to The Jewish Home. This provides new physicians the opportunity for hands-on learning in the field of geriatrics.

Palliative Care
Dr. Sharma is a trained board-certified physician specializing in Palliative Medicine with over 14 years of palliative care experience. She joined VNA Health Group in July 2018 and was instrumental in starting a community-based palliative program. This initiative helped to provide palliative care to patients in their homes, long-term care, and assisted living facilities. Prior to joining VNA Health Group, Dr. Sharma worked at Montefiore Medical Center in New York as a Palliative Medicine consulting physician for 12 years. She is dedicated to bringing her expertise, compassion, and vast knowledge in palliative care to her patients with chronic and life-limiting illnesses and to improving their quality of life.
